Slack plus Notion is not a workspace. It's a reconciliation job.

Conversations in one service and tasks in another can work. They also leave teams maintaining the connection between the two.

A request starts in Slack. Someone copies it into Notion. The discussion continues in a thread. The task changes status in a database. A week later, the person trying to understand the decision has four tabs open and still asks: “Where is the latest version?”

You can connect the tools. Notion's Slack integration can turn a Slack message into a Notion task or database item. Notion also offers a Slack connector for Notion AI on its Business and Enterprise plans. These are real capabilities, and plenty of teams use them successfully.

But an integration does not remove the seam. It creates another thing to configure, authorize and maintain between two systems, each with its own account, access rules and product decisions. The connection can help move context; it does not erase the work of deciding which system owns it.

Start with the conversation

In L4, a message in a Channel, DM or Thread can become a Task in the same Server, with a link back to where it was said.

The same Server also has Data and Documents. Its Inbox brings together assigned Tasks, mentions, Agent work and other items needing attention. That is the direction: a conversation can lead to work without asking a team to stitch together two separate products first.

One Server is not one permission

Putting things together must not mean giving everyone access to everything. Channels, Tasks and Mailboxes have their own access rules. A shared Server boundary is the beginning of authorization, not a substitute for it.

L4 is not as mature as Slack and Notion, and we are not promising that every workflow or integration maps across. Try the actual task flow with the people and permissions you need. The goal is not to win a checkbox contest. It is to stop making teams maintain the plumbing between a conversation and the work that conversation created.
