# Invite your team

> Create an invite link for your L4 Server, help people join with their own Account, and give them the right Role.

New people join a Server through an invite link. Each person creates their own Account on your Server; Accounts on other Servers do not carry over.

## Create an invite link

You need the **Create invites** permission. The Owner has it.

1. In your Server, open **Server settings → Invites**.
2. Select **Create invite**.
3. Select **Copy** next to the link and send it to the people you want to invite.

The Invites list shows each link's code, how many times it was used and when it expires. A link created here has no use limit and never expires, so share it only with people you want in the Server.

## What the invited person does

1. They open the invite link. It shows **Join server** and your Server's name.
2. If they are not signed in, they select **Sign in to join**, then **Create account** to make an Account on your Server.
3. After signing in, they select **Join**.

They can also paste the invite link into the Shell's **Connect** tab to save the Server on their device. See [Connect to a Server](https://llll.gg/docs/get-started/connect-a-server.md).

> [!NOTE]
> A Server starts with registration set to **Invite only**. The Owner can change it in **Server settings → Authentication → Registration** to **Open signup**.

## Give people the right Role

People who join through an invite get the **Member** Role. By default it lets them send messages, attach files and start Live.

To give someone more access:

1. Open **Server settings → Members** and select the person.
2. Choose a **Server role**.

To shape what each Role can do, or give access only inside one Project, use **Server settings → Roles & Policies**. See [Accounts, Members and Roles](https://llll.gg/docs/concepts/accounts-members-roles.md).

To let people talk to Agents, their Role needs **Use agents**. See [Create your first Agent](https://llll.gg/docs/get-started/first-agent.md).

## Remove someone

Open **Server settings → Members**, select the person and choose **Remove member**. You need the permission to remove members, and the Owner cannot be removed.
